Don't bug ME!

I am in a rotten mood today. I am so frustrated and confused about how to get everyone to school and get myself to work. Then worry about the kids after school. I don’t know what I am doing. Hopefully my son's car will un-freeze and we can do things the way they were before.

Un-freeze is that even a word?

I even went and bought a pack of smokes today...I know when I have a smoke I can relax and just breathe for a minute. Not sure why they calm me down but if smoking works to help me to take a moment and just let everything fall as they will, then I will never stop smoking. What else can I do? I was so proud of myself for not smoking for 10 days and it’s all gone.. Maybe I will just smoke when I am pissed off...

Breathe, put your troubles in a bubble and blow.....Smoke that is!! Ha ha ha

BRRR...it's cold out there...I'll stay in!

It was cold and horrible out. I did manage to take a few pictures of Charlie. That was my excitement...

Here is a pic of the necklaces I have done recently. I am trying my hand at the tigertail stuff and so far, I am liking it. Less time than beading with seed beads, but since I have sooo many now, all I want to do is use them...

I am teaching myself how to knit, and this is my first finished project. I know it looks a little lopsided, but it's my first attempt. Plus I know I had done the zipper wrong. But nevermind, it closes and opens and I will keep it forever.

Real Vs. Fake

SO I went out for coffee with my polluting sister the other night and we had a heated discussion on real trees or fake trees. Since she is a fake tree person, I thought I would try to change her mind and try to make her consider buying a real tree. So in the hope that she reads this (PAULETTE), I have decided to list some pros and cons:

Real:
Real Christmas trees absorb carbon dioxide and other gases; giving off fresh oxygen. Which helps to prevent the greenhouse effect.
They improve the land and bring value to portions of land which could not be used to grow other crops. They improve the soil.
They are naturally biodegradable and Regina has a Christmas Tree Mulch program.
They are a renewable resource.

Fake:
They are manufactured from PVC, plastic and metal which is highly environmentally damaging and non-renewable resource.
Artificial Christmas trees pollute our landfill sites for centuries cause they are not biodegradable. Plus the life span is anywhere from 5-8 years.

So Please enjoy a REAL tree this Christmas, you will be making the right environmental choice!

Plus it smells soooo pretty.!!

A Winning Weekend!!

When I used to smoke (10 days ago), I would sometimes get these cigarette tin things, so I decided to decorate it...with my favorite...Bob Marley. Here is the case, both inside and out... I don’t smoke anymore so I don’t carry it around as much. But I am keeping it, right now I have some of my old cards in it.

Looking at the tin actually makes me want to have a smoke. Even though it’s empty, I can still smell the smoke, and picture them in there...Oh this is torture, I should just wash the darn thing.

So my weekend was pretty uneventful. Paulette came and took me and Vernessa for coffee. We had a good time.

I did make some baking powder biscuits. Joe made soup and I hear they were good. I took a picture of course. The cookbook in the background was really old, it’s Vernessa’s and of course you can tell from the page that it’s been used many, many times. (Picture coming)

I also finished beading a collar for Charlie, we put it on him and at first he hated it, now he prances around and it looks good on him. The one for Peanut, I realized that once I tacked the beading down on the collar for Peanut it was too small. Curses. Luckily the neighbour’s dog is named Peanut and she is smaller than our Peanut, so guess what she is getting for Christmas...

Saturday, we decided to get the fish tank we bought last week set up. So we had to go to the pet store and buy the rocks, 4 bags of them...Get home, rinsed everything off, got everything out and ready to set up. There was a crack on the bottom of the tank, so we had to pack it up and take it back. So finally got it set up, and now all we need is to get some fish:)

Vernessa came over later and we did some beading, she finished her lighter case and she finished her earrings. I think I found a beading buddy. I managed to get everything cut off the loom, and now I think I am going to start on something different. Just don’t know what that is yet.

Sunday, a lazy day, I think I actually slept til 10...which is rare. Agian today was not one I wanted to go outside, it’s cold out there. So now that winter is here, I think I will just buy my groceries, hunker down and wait out the winter. Curses though, cause I gotta get to work. Why can’t I just have everything I want?

The Saskatchewan Roughriders won Grey Cup. I don’t even like football, I don’t even think I actually watched a game, but I am so happy that they won. I wanted to take a drive down Albert Street only to see the madness...but I didn’t, Joe didn’t get off work until midnight and it was so cold out. We did take a drive later and thought maybe we would go out for a celebration beer. But as we were driving down the street passing 10-15 police cars and vans we just decided to go home. That could have been too much excitement for us.

It’s an ugly day out today, the wind is wild and the snow is whipping around everywhere. Did I tell you I don’t like winter? I think we are having a storm, blizzard storm. I just know winter is here now and it’s not going away... *sigh*

New beads, projects and crafts, oh my!

Well I finally got my sister to hand over her treasure of beads, string and wire. I am so excited to have a few projects to start...and being the weekend is just 7.5 hours away I am jittery with joy. I already have a few projects swimming around in my head, imagine, two containers filled with beads of all shapes and colors. How exciting.

Last night, I have started a beaded collar for Peanut (the dog), and one for Charlie (the cat), I will post a picture when I am done. They are simple collars with thier names. I hope I am not turning into a crazy cat lady who dresses up her animals....nevermind, I do dress up my animals.

Seriously will post a photo when I am finished....

What's with the snow?

OMG!!! What is with the snow? Is it winter already? This isn't a great idea by any means.

I have to confess the white blanket on the trees is eye-candy, especially when it's glittering and shining. But, I don't like winter at all, I don't like the cold, I don't like the bare trees and the the dirty, brown snow. In my world, there would be no snow, expect for the mountains, where I would live at the bottom, with fruit trees and flowers. If I wanted to see the snow I would take a short drive up into the mountains and see the snow, only it would be warm and the snow wouldn't melt.

Dreams are free! Reality is that winter is here and is going to last for 4-5 months....

Beaded Necklaces

This is a picture of some of the beaded necklaces that I have made. I totally liked the peace sign necklace, I ended up giving it to my nephew Logan. The horse, playboy bunny and mirror necklace have sold.
I have soo many ideas stuck in my head and I have too little time to attempt to get them all done. I have been teaching my friend Vernessa how to bead and she is learning fast and it's nice to have someone to bead with. Even if it's mostly in silence since it's hard for me to talk, bead and count at the same time. Sounds bad, I know! Ok, I have to stop and give the think tank a rest...

Weekend That Came and Left

Canadiana Craft Store is closed down. Luckily Joe got to the store and surprised me with a bag of beads, he says he spent $60 and then got the 50% discount. My bag of beads was so awesome to see. I am so happy. I totally like have all these beads, my mind is going bonkers thinking of all creative possibilities. I have soo many projects and ideas stuck in my head, then when it comes down to actually making something, my mind goes blank. Curses...But then again I am a list person so I write lists all the time so when my mind does go blank I have a paper backup of my ideas.....

Went shopping all day on Saturday with my mom and my sister Paulette. Found some good deals and had a blast hanging with the old women. It was weird cause I absolutely hate shopping, all kinds, grocery, clothes and Christmas Shopping. I hate it. But I didn’t mind this time. Plus my mom and I got our pictures done in a photo booth thing, I like those pictures. Keepers!!

Made chocolates with my girls, I do have pics. They look lovely and they tasted even better. It was the paint the molds with the coloured chocolate and then pour the rest in. We are a creative bunch.

Santa came to town on Sunday. It was a little chilly out, but it was well worth it. Karen and our neice Raedean enjoyed seeing Santa Claus and the parade, it lasted pretty long. Mom and Vernessa even came along.

I am teaching Vernessa how to bead, so far so good. As of last night she wasn’t too bored with it yet. I may have a budding bead artist next door and we didn’t even know it. I beaded a little last night before I went to bed. I need to get busy getting my stuff done.

There is always soo much to do and not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Indian Tacos, Beer and Bitching

Geri came over last night and since we planned a couple weeks ago that we would be making Indian taco’s, that is what we did. Karen and Juhnea helped. It was pretty fun, we made hamburger taco’s and chicken ones cause I still can’t manage to choke down hamburger meat. I don’t like it, I don’t like the smell and I don’t even want to try and taste the stuff. Yuck! Juhnea made smoothies, and they were sooo good.
Karen did an hour of homework and she didn’t even complain. Juhnea went home with Karryann, they are going shopping today. I hope she has fun. My son....he came home and pretty much went to bed.

Vernessa came over, and I am glad she did cause we had a little girl night, bashed some men in our lives and then ate. It was a good night.

A Productive Weekend.

Well I had a productive weekend. I had started Juhnea’s room, peeled and then scrapped the wall paper off, washed and readied the walls for paint. Painted and rearranged. It looks good. Pretty good for the first time. Next room is my youngest daughters’ (Karen) room...

I even decorated the house for Christmas...no tree yet cause we buy a real one every year. Some say it’s to early. I have spent so much money on decorations and stuff, I am going to take my time and enjoy all the money I spent, even if it’s the middle of November.

Went shopping with my mom and my sister Catherine. It was a good time. I really enjoyed it, we took our time and wondered around for a few hours.

Vernessa gave me this wonderful little egg tray, came with rooster salt and pepper shakers. I liked it so much that I had to cook some devilled eggs to go with supper last night. Which only Karen stayed home to eat....Vernessa, Eric and Donovan came over for supper.
(Don't laugh, cause I heard they tasted good. I don't eat eggs!)

I am having a pity party and only I am invited.

Sometimes I feel like such a failure. I know that I am better off than some people, but I still feel like a disappointment. I know I don’t like feeling like this. I am just tired sometimes, I am tired of trying to please everyone, when the only ones that I should be trying to please are my kids.

I know I hate feeling like I can’t get them anything, but they do know that if they want something they have to work for it, cause I can’t afford it. But that makes me feel even more sad cause they have to work for everything they get....nothing is handed to them.

I don’t like competing against my family, I just wish that they would accept me for me and not judge any of the decisions I make for myself and family. I know I have made some that they wouldn’t and don’t want to understand. But then again they never ask me whats going on in my life.

I am going to get over it and "put my troubles in a bubble and blow". Take my own advice, suck it up and move on...

Joey's New (used) Car

My son has traded his car for another one...this one being sportyish, I don't like it. I know it goes fast and it's loud. We took it over to Paulette's the other day to show her. My nephew Christian is in love with cars, he's only 3. So I told him to go to the window Joey is coming with his car. He runs over and say's "I see it Auntie, it's a race car", then he said that it goes "vroom, vroom". He totally made my son's night to see how excited he was. He wanted to "go for a ride in the car", but he couldn't. It was so adorable.

I am so proud of Joey, he has bought and paid for his first car on his own. Since then has been trading up to this one, that he absolutely loves. So I am totally proud of him. I couldn't afford to buy him one so he did it on his own. He has already owned 6 cars in his 16 years...pretty good I think.

PREVIOUS CARS

This is the car that he bought for himself, only a two seater, which he traded cause he couldn't fit all his friends into it. It was really a nice car. I didn't like it cause it was small and dangerous, fast and sporty. He wouldn't get the volvo that I wanted him to....oh well This is the grey car that he got from that trade deal. Pretty good wheel and dealer huh?

Regent Pizza Burger

Joe was hungry the other night, I was in no mood to cook, so I ordered him a burger from Regent Pizza. Oh my gawd, look at the size of that monster. He couldn't even open his mouth wide enough to fit it in.

I don't eat hamburger, but he said it was great. I'll take his word for it.

Sheppards Pie

Geri came over last night so we could have a supper and decorating night. I peeled potatoes and she pretty much cooked. Oh man, it was good. The cheese was so tasty. I love cheese....
The neighbours came over too. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with the turn out. Vernessa even brought dessert, which I liked cause it had marshmallows on the top....it was sooo good. The kids liked it too.

Started to do my Christmas decorating....I know it's early, but I always think I only get really one month to admire all the cute Christmas stuff that I buy throughout the year. LET ME ENJOY IT!!!

Plus we woke up to snow, the really heavy kind. Should be gone by the time I get off work.
