Houses and Plants..

I had a very busy night last night. I went to pick up Chelsey, we drove around to look at some houses. Karen stayed to play with Teanna and David. We didn’t find her a house, but we had a good time looking for one.

After I dropped her off, Karen and I made our way to the garden. We planted melons, beans, sunflowers, peas, lettuce, radishes and onions. Our tomatoes have yet to be planted. I didn’t take my camera, but as soon as it sprouts I will take a picture. I have also decided to start a garden journal. This way I will know what to plant for next year and how well these new plants do. I am so excited, I can’t wait for the first sign of green sprouts.

As for my Alphalfa sprouts at home, they are sprouting. I think I might have made a little too much, but whatever, half are for Geri.

A deer caught in headlights!

I felt like a deer caught in headlights today. I bumped into someone whom I was soo very close to before. Not so much as a word was said, and it made me so sad. I could have said something but like I said, I felt like Bambi. It makes me feel sick, and sad. I know I don't compare to the new crowd she is with, but I always thought we would never change. We have and people drift apart, some change, some stay the same plain mary jane...

What did the weekend bring?

I didn’t plant my garden, as much as I wanted to and should have, I didn’t. I did go to garage sales with Paulette and Christian. I found a few treasures to add to my collection. Paulette and I also went to the casino for a bit and I didn’t win there.

I didn’t do a whole lot of beading, I made a few rings but that was about it. Vernessa came over and we just sat and talked and talked.

Plus it rained almost all weekend, and it was cold and wet…so I stayed inside and turned on the heat, even pulled out my wonderful electric blanket.

That was all, Juhnea was at her friends all weekend…Karen stayed with Terrylyn for a night, and Joey was in and out all weekend. My love was working…and I puttered around all weekend.

My garden

I went and picked out the seeds that I want for my garden. I am sooo excited. I chose these seeds:

Black Radishes
Trail of Tears Beans
Tomatillo
Purple Tomatoes
Sunflowers

I plan on adding some onion, lettuce, spinach and carrots. I am so excited. I am eager to plant my plants to get the show on the road.

Geri came over for a bit last night, I made Sheppard’s Pie and I even started some sprouts. So next week we should have some sprouts to add to our meals.

Aboriginal Awareness Week

Well it's Aboriginal Awareness Week at work and today I went to listen to one of my friends Agnes Kraemer. She spoke about Inuit Culture and Traditions, she had a lot of good stories to tell. She is one of those little tiny women who are so cute that you want to put them in a Tweety Bird cage and listen to her talk all day long.

We also had some Bison Soup and three different types of bannock. I tried the spiced bannock and man, it was tasty.

BONUS-I won a backpack cause I answered some questions right. I am brilliant!!

A little bit of this, A little bit of that!

Let’s see what did I do?

Spent the part of the day with my mother and niece Taylor. We went to three different parks, fed the birds and there are babies already, went to the museum, had Slurpee's and ice cream. We went and looked at my garden plot, I am excited. Karen spent the night at my momma’s with Taylor.

Geri came over for a bit and got ready to go out on the town…I wanted to go, but decided to be good for a change. I am joking, I am usually pretty darn good.

Had a barbecue with Karryann, Rod, Christian and Drew. Had some barbecue drinks.

Joe, Vernessa and I hit some garage sales…fun, fun, fun. I found some really good deals and I even still had money left.

My son got a pocket quad, silly boys look funny riding those. We got a new family member for a while, Cody is one of Joey’s friends.

Juhnea went to the farm, she is also going to Kanye West and Rhianna concert. I hope she has a ball. She even babysat her sisters Janessa and Mandy.

Visited with my dad, Bonnie and my sister Patreece. It was really good to see her again. I have missed them lots. I plan on writing letters to my brother Caylum.

I made 6 key chains.

Aloe Vera

It’s another beautiful day out there. I finished another tile necklace and Juhnea said they are just lovely. I had gone back to the store that had the lettered tiles, and they were no where to be found. I found the original tiles that I bought in different colors.

Have you ever tried Aloe Vera Juice? Well I must say it’s the tastiest drink that I have tried. Plus Juhnea likes it too. It’s got little pieces of cut up Aloe Vera in it and you can chew on them as you drink. It’s one of those things you have to try. Plus we also bought the Aloe Vera Dessert topping…with real chunks (big) of aloe vera in it. We might try that tonight.

If you drink aloe vera juice, here are some of the benefits you can expect:
Good for blood circulation

regulates blood pressure

good for disorders of the bones and joints

benefits the immune system

defends the body against hostile organisms

provides exceptional nutritional value for health and energy

excellent for healing tissue damage inside the body

good for healing ulcers

good for controlling sugar levels in diabetics

helps to reduce itchiness in psoriasis heal

helps to make you regular and eliminate constipation

It's a beautiful day...

Well I must say I was a busy little bee last night. After some cleaning I stripped and shaped wire into hanging hooks to display my jewellery. Then I made a new necklace out of some tiles that I bought. And they do look pretty if I may say so myself. SO I am going to pick up some lettered tiles and make a necklace for Kendra and Quannah for the next time they come to visit me…I’ll have a little gift for each of them.

I’m Thinking Arby’s

Joe and I picked up mom for supper since I didn’t see her on Mother’s day…we ended up going to Arby’s. I know, I know, I really out did myself. Took her home with us to see my babies and then drove her home.

I made some fresh rolls for Geri and I, and I think I am getting better at it. They sure are tasty.

I did do some kind of craft, I made hooks to hang my jewellery. That was it…

Happy BeLated Mother’s Day

Well Joe and Karen took me for breakfast. Karen made me a pretty coaster. We had a rather good day, the day was nice and long. We visited a few people and then just went home to relax. The season finale of Survivor was on, so we couldn’t miss that. I couldn’t find my mother all day long…only after she got home and realized I had been stalking her, she finally called me back.

A Pretty, Darn Good Weekend.

"We blew away our fallen eyelashes and the ladybugs that landed on us, together with our wishes, to the nearest star." - Tessa Kiros

I was assigned my garden bed today. I am so excited. I really need to think about what I am going to plant. I know I want to get some radishes, lettuce, beets, carrots, tomatoes, peas and beans…so far that is my plan…plus some sunflowers. Maybe try a pepper and a tomatillo plant. Oh gosh, I just hope that I can do this and not make a garden bed full of weeds.

I did successfully make Fresh Rolls…and they were tasty. I really liked them and I will make them again. I need to go to the Chinese market to find peanut sauce, the one I found was spicy. I also found some Aloe Vera juice, and I will say that it is tasty stuff…I especially like the little pieces that float around in there. It’s pretty darn yummy.

As for my crafts this weekend, I didn’t make any.

I went out for a bit with Paulette on Saturday night, it was loads of fun.

Weekend,,,here I come....

I got a garden plot….ohhh I am so excited. I got it by my work, so I am going to have to make it extra nice since I know I have a few googlers who want to see my garden. It better be Garden of Eden-like or I will be disappointed.

I hope my weekend is a productive one. I have soo many plans for stuff. I just hope I can actually get a few things done. I did finish a necklace last night, Vernessa came over and Cory came over for a bit, she bought some little mukluks from a garage sale. They are super cute.

A good night for gossip...

I had a rather good night last night. I was so tired when I got home, and the house was already clean. I liked that.

Geri came over last night and we just sat and visited. Then Vernessa came over, we all visited and then Cory came over and she only stayed for a few minutes. It was nice to have them all over and it was nice to have a gossip party. Hee Hee

SO needless to say I didn’t do any beading at all. Geri did pick out a necklace she wants me to make for her, and I will, cause she is a really good friend. I did glue some more decorations onto my loom. It’s starting to look very pretty. I even painted my nails.

The kids were good and my son was even asked to go and work with his dad. So off he went. Just a girls’ night at home.

Let’s see my plans for tonight will be to create….create all night long.

Mellow Mood

I'll play your fav'rite song, darlin'.
We can rock it all night long, darlin'.
'Cause I've got love, darlin',
Love, sweet love, darlin'.
Mellow mood has got me,
So let the music rock me.

'Cause I've got love, darlin'.
Love, sweet love, darlin'.
Quiet as the night,
Please turn off your light.

I'll play your fav'rite song, darlin'.
We can rock it all night long, darlin'.

Strike the hammer while iron is hot.
Strike the hammer while iron is hot.
Strike the hammer while iron is hot.
Open up your heart.
Open up your heart.
Let love come running in, darlin',
Love, sweet love, darlin'.
Love, sweet love, darlin'.

Mellow mood has got me, darlin
Let the music rock me, darlin'.
Cause I got your love, darlin'.
Love, sweet love, darlin'.

Love, sweet love, darlin'.
(Repeat)

Well I finished my Bob Marley purse, it’s just a little one for trinkets…but I love Bob, so I made the little square of canvass (with Bob’s picture) into a purse. It’s lovely too. That was it for my crafting last night.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Well I was home alone on Friday, Juhnea left to the farm, Karen left to Pense, Joey was out with his friends, and Joe was gone to work. So, I opened the curtains, cleaned up the house, listened to blaring music and enjoyed my time alone. Then Vernessa came to bead...so I finished a big project that took me about a week.

Saturday, Joe and I went to a couple garage sales. He had to go to work, my son got home and started working on the car. Joey worked on that car all weekend, and it was a hard job. Even his dad said he "couldn't do what Joey did". We are both pretty darn proud of that boy.

Karen got home, Vernessa babysat while I went out with my sister Paulette. It was a rather fun night...I got home in a rather beer fuelled stupor. I didn't want to drink, but then after a couple it was pretty tasty.

Sunday, I tried to find my mom to come and have a picnic in the park. She managed to elude me. So Joe, Karen, Karryann, Rod, Christian and myself...went to barbecue some burgers and hotdogs. It was a nice time. We sat on the side of the huge hill in Douglas park, and then went to feed the birds. It was a nice time...I took lots of pictures too.

Juhnea was home when we got home, it was nice to see her. I missed her, even if it was only two days.

That was it, I didn't do any beading this weekend, and I didn't do any spring cleaning. I need to get that done sooner rather than later...
