Chuck E. Cheese

Karen, Rae-Dean and I planned on going swimming…only to find out that when we got there, there was no public swim…so we left, wondering what to do and where to go. We ended up going to Chuck E Cheese’s…which was a blast. They have this cool machine where you can make little ID cards with your picture for one token. I got two, one was an all-star athlete and the other was a movie star backstage pass. I would have gotten more but the other parents watched me with this disgusted look, probably because I pushed down three little girls on the way to the machine…but they were big for 5 year olds, one was probably about 8.

Just jokes, I didn’t.

Spring Free From Racism 2009

This year’s event was great…Paulette did really well on her food booth and sold out of Indian Taco’s. She also had porcupines, made with buffalo meat…and Elk Sausage stew. I was never a person to eat wild meats, but I did try this, both of them…and I really liked the Elk stew, I ate about 3 bowls…It does pay to try everything once.

I did well on my craft booth, not as well in the previous years, but I still made a few good contacts and will be having a table at this years’ Aboriginal mosaic. Juhnea and Deneil sat at the table pretty much all night.

We got some cool certificates of achievement from the committee, I am so proud of mine, looks fabulous.

Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Saskatchewan

Paulette and I attended the 52nd Anniversary of Ghana’s Independence on Saturday. There were steel drummers, we also ate some awesome ethnic foods. I met some of Paulette’s co-workers…very nice people. We had intended to go back for the dance, but I ended up peeling potatoes…yes, just like I broke some jail rule and I was hauled off to peel potatoes.

Star Bright...

I drove Juhnea back to the farm, I forgot how bright the stars are out there. It was so clear; I tried to take a few pictures of the moon because it was brilliant. I kinda forgot how dark it is out there, kinda freaky when you see those shining, glowing eyes in the headlights. C-R-E-E-P-Y……..

Definition of gullible

Easily duped: tending to trust and believe people, and therefore easily tricked or deceived

I have heard in the last two days about how gullible I am. Ok, I know I am a little bit too trusting, but is that bad to believe that most people are truly good and honest? However, looking at the definition of gullible, that makes me want to look at people with shifty eyes and a hardened heart. But that’s not me…I believe in charma, I will believe in those people I trust, I will forgive and if you do cross me, I will wait for my revenge when Charma comes knocking on your door. Besides look at me…is that a face of evil and wickedness? Hee Hee Hee

A plump little post…

Juhnea came home for the weekend and ended up staying for most of the week. She goes back to the farm tonight. I had the best time with her. I watched as my children got along and talked nicely, I was worried for a bit with the bickering and stuff. It’s nice to hear them getting along and the laughter is the best.

Joe, Paulette, Sean and I went out to a local bar for Karaoke night, it was a total blast…We had a great time. The batting of my big Snuffalupagus eyelashes could not pry spying eyes from the toilet paper stuck to my shoe. I was known as toilet paper girl for the rest of the night.

Catherine came over to help make candy kabobs with Juhnea and I …it was fun, we drank a lovely bottle of wine that Catherine picked out, I will be buying that again. Of course I picked up my favourite bottle of Earnest and Julio Gallo wine.

I made a few more pairs of earrings and started a couple necklaces, but I don’t think they will be finished by my sale this weekend. I think I am starting to keep much more than I am selling. Karen is going to help me get my supplies ready and packed so that I am not in a mad rush on Sunday.

Oh another exciting piece of news….I had made all of my flower arrangement, bouquets and pins for my own wedding. From that sparked a little fire and I started making bouquets for other brides…that all ended when I moved from the farm and started my new life. Well I think that little fire is sparking once again. I have been asked to do a wedding with 5 bridesmaids. So I am going to try to make a couple samples and she can tell me from there whether or not she would like me to make the bouquets’. I am excited since I haven’t done that in years. Plus to be part of a day that changes lives is awesome!

It’s freaking cold outside today…oh well **sigh** one more day closer to spring…

Beautiful...

Wow what a beautiful morning…there is some fog and the horror frost on the trees is absolutely gorgeous. I wish I would have had my camera that would have been an awesome postcard.

One more week, one more week, then my sale happens. It’s the 10th Anniversary of Spring Free From Racism and it’s a wonderful event. It’s like a mini mosaic of cultures all in one building. Wonderful!!

(March 2)
Happy Belated Birthday to Garrett! Love you lots and think of you often!

Karen is not feeling to well again today. She had a fever last night and a super sore throat. So she is home again, I hope she feels better today!

Steak Night Fundraiser

I had a wonderful night last night…hanging out with the girls…Momma, Jean, Chelsey and Catherine…Karen went to visit Tia and we took off to a Steak Night Fundraiser. Seen a few people I haven’t seen in a while, ate a steak that was pink in the middle, I was grossed out, but starved. It was good! After dropping everyone off Karen and I headed home to make it just in time for The City. It was a good night spent with good people.

Baby Books and Beads......

I was busy this weekend...I managed to finish the baby book that I made for my sister-in-law...more for my new neice. I just added an old photo of Karen in there, just to make sure a picture would fit. What do you think?

I also found these cool glass rocks, in thin and long shapes...so I made a couple necklaces.
