Monday....

Karen and I went with Paulette and Christian to meet my dad at my Grandpa Victor’s home. My grandpa looks so frail and you can actually feel the blood shooting into his veins. He has aged a whole lot since I seen him last. Although he sure didn’t loose any of that sense of humour that he has, and I will always remember the time I drove back to Regina with my dad and Grandpa as he sang songs and blew kisses at me. It sure saddened me to see how much it hurts my dad to see Grandpa like that.

When we did get home, Karen and I went across the street to Debra’s for coffee. It was good, met one of Debra’s friends. Then I was pleasantly surprised as she wanted to know if I knew how to bead. So we planned another get together tonight to show her how to bead something. I think I’ll start her off with something easy. I am pretty excited; I finally have another beading partner. Oh…the crafts we will make.

Dance, Crafts, Drives...

Karen, Rae-dean, mom and I all went to Karen’s Halloween Dance. It was great, Karen was a beauty queen, and Rae-dean was a fairy princess. There was draws, bake sale, treat sale and the dance. There were so many kids with awesome homemade costumes. It was a really nice night out.

October 24th, Happy Birthday Karryann!

My dad came down for a visit. He came and picked up Karen and I for a ride to Balcarres to see Taylor. Catherine and Rae-dean also came for a ride. It was nice. Catie and I had a good drive back. Cheers, happy birthday to us.

I finished my Medusa headband. It looks okay, I am not that excited about it. But it will do, I still have yet to pick up a few more snakes. I still have to figure out how to make pin curls in my hair. I decided to wear my black shirt with silver ribbon, and black pants since we will be going to the bar afterwards.

I finished a Halloween photo frame of the kids in their costumes. I want to make another one of the other pictures that I have.

I have painted the first coat of white on Jacks head. So tonight I would like to finish him and set him up in the corner. I will be sooo glad when he is finished.

Quiet night...

Karen and I had a rather quiet night last night. We hung some spider webs in the kitchen, moved Jack to corner, out of the way and ready for the last coat of paint. I even managed to make a Halloween necklace that was stuck in my head, only I wasn’t as impressed with the finished piece. Looked better in my head, so I’ll hang on to it until its better.

Silent Birthday Wishes for Cody!

Bits of this...bits of that!!

Another battle with a sickly bug. I had tonsillitis, which is so weird cause I could have sworn I had them removed when I was little. But my mom reassured me that they didn’t grow back, they were just never removed.

I didn’t do a whole lot this weekend, not one thing really…craft wise. I did spend some time with my mom, we went and cleaned my garden space, went for coffee with Maureen then coffee with Vernessa. Karen went for a night with her Grandma Nadean. It was a good weekend…

Joe and I did end up going for drinks with Derek, Dante and Jessie. We went to a small pub, which was having karaoke night. Good times!!!

Paulette, made fun of me this weekend….she was sick in the emergency room. When I got there I thought I would be all strong and stuff. As soon as she said “are you going to cry”, oh my, the water works started. Well, excuse me for having a big heart. Plus, if it’s nothing to worry about it wouldn’t be called “emergency” room. Duh!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHERINE!!

My baby sister is a whole year older. Happy Birthday Catherine, I love you with all my heart. I hope you have a wonderful day, I’ll see you later. Love and hugs…

Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other.-- Carol

Long time…no post!

I have tonsillitis, and I didn’t even know I had tonsils. I thought I had them removed when I was small, but apparently they are still there and they are inflamed. I had to take a picture because it was so gross. Then, I had to trick Ron into looking at it, I said it was something I made. He looked. I out did myself!! I am laughing…still laughing!

My friend Tammy had her baby and I couldn’t even go up and see them. She had a girl, finally, after three boys. I better get a picture…. (Tammy are you reading this?)

Jack Skellington, oh, how I hate you! This project has been taking an extra long time. Especially since it was Paulette’s idea and she still has not yet been over to help paper mache his skinny old body. However, I do have him standing. So now all I have left to do is paint and get some pumpkin vines growing up his legs. I will be relieved once he is finished…my masterpiece!

My Juhnea came up this past weekend, brought Deneil with her. It was fun, Deneil was funny, makes me chuckle. We went to my mom’s for Thanksgiving dinner. Although we had to leave early cause her dad was coming up to take my baby back to his lair. She is not coming home this weekend, but at least she called to calm my “I miss you tears”.

We spent a wonderful day in the park on the weekend, fed the birds, went to the museum. Taylor was with mom, so Karen stayed two nights there too.

Then the next day, it snowed, and snowed. It turned to winter in one day. Most of the snow is gone already, but holy cow!!

Long climb up, fast slide down…

I was so happy for my son when I got home last night. He finally got his car out of the shop, he worked so hard on this, took the whole thing apart and put new hoses, wires, gas lines and cleaned the whole thing so well. Only to have it for an hour and the motor went. He went from extreme happiness right down to extreme sadness.

My heart breaks for Joey, he works so hard and done so much work on that car. I hope his luck changes.

To the man who sold him this car, charma will find you, and kick you in the ass.

I am grateful that my son is surrounded by a good group of guys. They will help lift his spirits and get him back on track.

Lotus Oatmeal

I have tried this can of oatmeal that I bought the other day. I am a fan of any kind of porridge and this one is good. It kinda smells like baby pablum, but it is good. It has everything in it from chick peas, coconut, barley, rolled oats and jelly. A couple ingredients I have never heard of before. It’s good, so try it if you can.
BONUS: It comes with a plastic lid and it's own spoon.

Another layer

Well Jack got another layer last night, another layer around his big ole’ head. Then as I ran to the store for my son, Jack’s damn head fell off. So tonight I will do some repairing and get another layer on his neck to toughen him up a bit.

Karen has her own balloon to paper mache and we shall see what she comes up with. She is pretty creative.

Juhnea went back to the farm yesterday. I am so not used to watching her leave. I hate it, I hate it sooo much!

Busy...Busy...Busy

I had a wonderfully busy weekend. Paulette came and picked me up on Friday to go to a clothing thing, Vernessa and mom came too. It was good, found a few good things.

We stopped to have coffee with Uncle Mike at Time Hortons. After that I had to get home. Joey worked, so did Joe, and Juhnea and Deneil came up for the weekend. They kept to themselves doing teenage girl things. Karen had a sleepover with Tasha.

I did manage to finish the coffin purse that I started to make. It did turn out quite lovely. I have to make one for Paulette. I’ll post a picture once I have one that looks good.

Saturday, Joe had to work so Karen and I picked up mom and Catherine. Tia was with mom too. So off to garage sales we went. I found a scrabble game for 50 cents…good buy since I want to try to make some tile necklaces. I also found a cool Bob Marley poster for $1.00.

Karen spent the night with mom and Tia.

Sunday, lazy day. I did start the Jack Skellington. I managed to do one layer of paper mache on his upper torso. Juhnea had doubts and didn’t think I could make him. So far he is looking good. I am a little stumped on his legs…how will he stand on his own? I still have yet to think of that. He’s going to be tall, at least 6-7 feet. I hope after all this work that he does turn out good. I will be mad if he doesn’t. I and Joe went to moms for supper and to pick up our child. It was sooo good.

It rained pretty much all day. It’s cold and the leaves are falling, falling, falling….I don’t like fall.

Monday…Juhnea goes back to the farm today; I wish I would have taken the day off to hang out with her for a bit…I really didn’t get to see her that much this weekend. I miss her so much.

Tonight, my plans are to do another coat of paper mache on Jack. Maybe try a new pattern with beading. I have to get my Halloween costume ready, but I still can’t find any snakes. I am freaking out…I better find something or I’ll be a witch AGAIN! Or I might try my scrabble tile necklaces. Too many ideas and not enough time.
